Meet Dr. Gomez

Dr. Carlos Gomez
Dr. Gomez was recently featured on ABC News!

Carlos Gomez started his career in 1987 with an orthodontics practice made up mostly of children and young adults. After 12 years of professional work and his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr Gomez cemented his love for pediatric dentistry and decided to limit his practice to ages 1 through 21.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Gomez worked for ten years at the Cleft Palate clinic at a Children’s Hospital in his home town, and is currently teaching part-time at the Pediatric Dental Clinic of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, The Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontist, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

He is the father of two children. His daughter recently completed her first year of college at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his son is going into 11th grade in high school. Dr. Gomez loves to play soccer; in fact, he coached his son’s travel soccer teams for five years at TEYSA. This year, his son's team, Coppa 82, was the State Champion for Pennsylvania! Dr. Gomez enjoys spending his time outside of the office with his family doing outdoor activities. He especially enjoys mountain biking and hiking. He follows formula 1 and is a huge fan of the Eagles – big sports fanatic!

Dr Gomez is a graduate from the Roth/Williams Orthodontics, Advance Education in Orthodontics (AEO).  He completed a 2-year program presented at The University of Detroit, Mercy, whose purpose is to help the conscientious orthodontic specialist achieve consistent high quality orthodontic results for his patients.
Dr. Gomez  provides excellent FUNCTIONAL ORTHODONTICS, meaning that in his goal, when treating an orthodontic patient, achieving a bite correction is as important as the teeth alignment.
“The objective of this program is to provide the practicing orthodontist with basic knowledge regarding occlusion and the TMJ as applied to diagnosis, treatment planning and execution of treatment, through and beyond the retention period.” (AEO)

Besides his experience encompassing more than 14 years in orthodontics, Dr. Gomez has been published in several different scientific journals such as the World Journal of Orthodontic, Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, Journal of Functional Orthodontics, and Orthodontic Cyber Journal.
