As the end of summer approaches we get ready for the colder weather and going back to our busy lives. I cannot believe how quickly the season has gone by!

Back to School

With the beginning of the school year approaching, I would like to remind you to check whether your children need school forms that we have to fill out. Just bring them in before school begins, and we will gladly fill them out for you. Also, we would like to remind you that both you and your children should have your teeth cleaned twice a year; so, call us to make an appointment for your family’s next cleanings.

Television Debut

On August 7th we were on Channel 6 ABC. We were featured on the Healthcheck segment with the topic of adult stem cell collection. We invite you to take a look: Collecting Stem Cells from Teeth

A Growing Family Practice

Now that we are open four days a week, I am happy to see our schedule filling out and our practice growing. I am delighted to hear all the positive comments that we have received. It is great to have my wife on board.

June, 2009

In this first newsletter I would like to thank all my patients and families that have put their trust in us. It is very rewarding to see how our dental family is growing thanks to your help. I look forward to seeing more of your friends and families join our dental family.

New Learning

Recently, I attended a fascinating information lecture about the use of Invisalign with teens. We encourage you to consider the option of Invisalign when thinking about your orthodontic plans. Additionally, the third week of June, I will finish a 2-year program in Roth/Williams Orthodontics, Advanced Education in Orthodontics at The University of Detroit – Mercy. The purpose of this program is to help the conscientious orthodontics specialist achieve consistent high-quality orthodontic results for his patients. I anticipate finishing this program and applying all the new learning to our ever-improving practice.

A New Addition to Our Practice

T

his month, Dr. Villegas will be joining our practice. She has a strong background in pediatric dentistry, as well as the experience of a five- year faculty position at tDr. Villegashe University of Pennsylvania’s Dental School. She has a sweet and inviting personality. Additionally, having her in our practice will allow us to give patients the option to come in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in addition to our currently scheduled days. With the arrival of the summer, the expanded hours will make it easier for you to schedule appointments for you and your children. I am very excited to have Dr. Villegas, my wife, joining our practice.

An Eventful Month for the Gomez Family

The month of May was full of events. My daughter completed her first year of college at the University of Pennsylvania. She is studying International Business and French, and has truly enjoyed her first year away from home. Although we miss her very much, it gives me a lot of pride to know she is becoming such an accomplished young lady.  In addition, my wife graduated with honors from the PASS program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Dental School. Congratulations to her! We are extremely proud and cannot wait to have her as an important part of our practice. Last, but definitely not least my son’s soccer team won the State Cup! His team will move on to compete for a place in Nationals. We wish them the best of luck.

Summer Reminders

With summer activities ahead, we would like to give you a few tips and reminders to keep your family’s smiles bright and healthy. Remember to pack two toothbrushes (one spare just in case), toothpaste, and dental floss when you send your children to overnight camps. With their routines changing from the usual school one, make sure your children brush their teeth at least twice a day, especially before going to bed.

Also, remember to bring your children in for their dental checkup, if necessary, and the school and camp forms that need to be filled out. If your child had a checkup recently, you are welcome to bring the forms in to be filled out at your convenience.

It is nice to see the summer coming. The doctor and staff of 4Kids + U too! would like to wish you joy and peace during these days.

Have a safe and happy summer!
